Stars flock to Retro September events at Knockhill as the clock is turned back to the 70s, 80s and 90s!

Knockhill is hosting two retro-themed events during  September with the Knockhill Rewind Classic Festival for motorcycles from the 70s, 80s and 90s on Sunday 6^th of September, followed by Scotland's first ever night races on Saturday the 26^th , run by the Classic Sports Car Club for race cars from the same three decades.

The Rewind Classic Festival is a popular trip down memory lane for racers and fans alike as it harks back to the first decades after Knockhill opened in 1974. The event will host races for classic bikes including iconic GP250s, 350s and Post Classics, but it is off track that a lot of the spotlight will be on as a galaxy of Scottish racing legends will be in attendance. 

Grand Prix rider Donnie McLeod, TT rider Iain Duffus, British Superbike star Ian Simpson and World Endurance Champion Brian Morrison are just a selection of the Scottish racing legends that will be present as everyone reminisces on their amazing achievements across three decades of bike sport. Some 100 plus race, track and road bikes will also be on display with motorcycles used by world stars such as Barry Sheene, Kevin Schwantz, Steve Hislop, Kenny Roberts and Phil Read being admired by bike race fans from all over Scotland.

On Saturday 5^th September, the weekend event will kick off with a 75 lap endurance race for more modern bikes, qualifying sessions and seven races for Classics, Post Classics and Sidecars. However, Sunday 6th is the main retro day with the show bikes, parades and Scottish racing legends in attendance.

Later in the month, Knockhill will host Scotland's first ever night car races as the Classic Sports Car Club return north of the border with 120 plus classic sports and saloon cars on Saturday 26^th September. A full day of racing will take place for Tin Tops, Swinging 60s, Jaguars, Future Classic, Morgans and many more until the end of the afternoon when drivers prep their cars for two feature night races. Around 6pm, marshals and officials will prepare the track for darkness and two qualifying sessions will take place ahead of two 40 minute races with driver pitstops with a finish around 9.30pm.

The Rewind Classic Festival has really hit the high note of interest of bike fans as the quality of race bikes on show will surpass even the amazing selection we had at Knockhill's 50^th back in 2024. We are delighted that so many stars will be in attendance too, showing the strength and depth of this special event".
