Funding Opportunity: National Events Programme Now Open
Event organisers and partners across Fife are encouraged to explore the latest funding opportunity through VisitScotland’s National Events Programme.
This programme supports the development and delivery of events that have the potential to generate significant economic impact and enhance Scotland’s reputation as a world-class events destination. It is particularly relevant for events that can attract visitors, deliver strong place-based benefits, and align with national and local tourism strategies.
The fund is open to a range of cultural and sporting events, with a focus on those which can demonstrate growth potential, innovation, and long-term legacy. Organisers should also be able to show how their event contributes to regional economic development, supports local supply chains, and enhances the overall visitor experience.
Upcoming funding deadlines:
- Round 56: Wednesday 24 June at 2pm – for events taking place January to May 2027
- Round 57: Monday 5 October at 2pm – for events taking place June to September 2027
For Fife, this represents an important opportunity to strengthen our events portfolio, build on existing successes, and attract new audiences to the area. Events that align with the ambitions of the Fife Tourism Strategy and showcase our unique assets heritage, coastline, food and drink, and communities are strongly encouraged to consider applying.
As funding is competitive, early engagement and strong, evidence-based applications are key. Applicants should clearly demonstrate projected visitor numbers, economic impact, partnership working, and how their event will be delivered sustainably and inclusively.
