Welcome to Fife launches comprehensive ‘Home of Golf’ website to attract more golfers to the Kingdom of Fife

1 April 2025

Welcome to Fife has unveiled a brand-new Home of Golf website designed to inspire and guide golf enthusiasts to explore the Kingdom of Fife’s rich golfing heritage and its 50 exceptional courses.

The new website serves as a one-stop resource for everything golfers need to know about playing in this iconic region. A standout feature is the Course Finder, which offers detailed pages for each course, including hole-by-hole insights, videos, opening times, and information about clubhouses and facilities. Golfers can also search by course type, budget, and location, making it easier than ever to choose the perfect round.

In addition to the Course Finder, the site features inspirational blog content, pro tips, and exclusive interviews, including a conversation with former professional golfer and popular broadcaster, Iona Stephen. For history enthusiasts, there’s a comprehensive timeline of Fife’s golfing legacy, while those seeking itinerary ideas can explore five inspiring journeys that suggest where to play, stay, dine, and explore. The website also includes a directory of golf tour operators offering tailored golf packages to help visitors make the most of their trip.

Councillor Altany Craik, Fife Council's spokesperson for Finance, Economy and Strategic Planning, commented:

"As we are the Home of Golf, it's important that we highlight Fife’s impressive array of golf courses. With The Open returning in July 2027, this new resource will play a key role in showcasing not only the world-famous St Andrews links but also the many hidden gem courses that Fife has to offer."

David Scott, General Manager of Dumbarnie Links and 2025 PGA Captain of GB&I, said:

“As a Fifer and brought up on the links of St Andrews, golf runs through my veins.  Having played most of the 50 courses across the Kingdom, there are a wonderful mixture of parkland, clifftop and links courses to suit all levels of golfer, and budgets. Choosing Fife for your next golfing holiday is highly recommended.”

The Home of Golf website is integrated within the main Welcome to Fife destination website, available at www.welcometofife.com.
