The Home of Golf, St Andrews, to welcome Scotland’s Biggest Golf Tourism Event of Its Kind

26 August 2026

Scottish Golf Tourism Week, Scotland’s biggest golf industry conference with a global attendance, has announced dates for its 2027 event which will be held, for the very first time, at The Old Course Hotel and various other venues in St Andrews.

The three-day event, operated by DC Thomson and taking place between 9-11 March, will once more be supported by luxury travel provider and headline sponsor Luxe Scot. During the week, over 3,700 face-to-face meetings between over 100 Scottish golf businesses and 94 international golf tour operators are set to take place, which during the 2026 event represented 35 countries, including the USA, Canada, Australia, France and more. Post-event, attendees stated they projected up to six figures of additional golf-related income as a result of attending Scottish Golf Tourism Week events. This event is a must for any golf business looking to grow and reach new international markets.

The week offers a rare opportunity for Scottish hotels, resorts, golf courses, travel providers, experiences and more to connect directly with over 90 key global travel trade operators in person at various events and meetings across the week. Its purpose is to allow businesses to build on existing strong relationships with tour operators, and most importantly, create new opportunities for businesses in Scotland to increase golf tourism.

2027 marks the event’s return to St Andrews, after three events hosted across Scotland, in Inverness, Aberdeen and Edinburgh. Owen Wyatt, Chief Growth Officer from DC Thomson, said:

"Scottish Golf Tourism Week is a brilliant opportunity to bring some of the most influential people in global golf tourism to Scotland - and remind them why this country remains the Home of Golf.

And there could hardly be a better stage than St Andrews, particularly in a year when The Open returns. But Scotland’s golf story is much bigger than our most famous courses. Across the country, golf supports brilliant businesses, jobs and communities and brings visitors into parts of Scotland they might otherwise never discover.

“That is the opportunity I’m most excited about. Golf tourism brings people to Scotland, but the economic impact spreads far beyond the fairways - into our hotels, restaurants, shops and businesses, from our cities to some of our smallest communities.

“At DC Thomson we see every day the ambition that exists across Scotland. Scottish Golf Tourism Week gives us another opportunity to turn one of this country’s greatest global strengths into more visitors, stronger businesses, new investment and sustainable economic growth across the country.

Scotland already has something the rest of the world cannot replicate. Our job is to make absolutely sure we make the most of it.”

The 2027 edition marks the tenth Scottish Golf Tourism Week and sees bunkered, an international golf media brand home to the latest golf news, and Luxe Scot continuing their partnership with Scottish Golf Tourism Week in a joint effort between organisations to champion golf and golf-related businesses of all levels across Scotland.

Alan Findlater, Director & Owner of Luxe Scot says:

"Luxe Scot is delighted to be continuing our partnership with DC Thomson as headline sponsor of Scottish Golf Tourism Week for the third consecutive year. Hosting the event in St Andrews, the Home of Golf, makes it particularly special and with The Open also returning to St Andrews in 2027, it promises to be an outstanding occasion for Scotland's golf tourism industry. As 2027 also marks Luxe Scot's fifth anniversary, it will be an especially significant year for our business, making our continued support of this event even more meaningful. We look forward to welcoming delegates from across the globe and showcasing the very best of Scottish hospitality.”

The world-renowned Old Course Hotel – Best Luxury Hotel recipient at the 2026 Scottish Golf Tourism Awards – will host the face-to-face meetings and tour operators throughout the week.

Phyllis Wilkie, General Manager, Old Course Hotel, added:

"We are honoured that Old Course Hotel will host Scottish Golf Tourism Week in 2027. As a hotel that sits alongside the world's most iconic fairway, it is a privilege to welcome golf industry leaders to St Andrews, the Home of Golf. This event is an opportunity to showcase not only the exceptional golf experiences for which our destination is renowned, but also the warmth, hospitality and rich heritage that make St Andrews so special. We look forward to celebrating and sharing our unique corner of Scotland with a global audience."
