Seachdain na Gaidhlig (World Gaelic Week)
This week we celebrate Seachdain na Gaidhlig (World Gaelic Week) taking place from Monday 20 February – Sunday 26 February with the theme “Coming Together”.
The first ever Seachdain na Gàidhlig (World Gaelic Week) took place in 2022, entirely online during lockdown and, thanks to support from Bord na Gàidhlig, there‘s over 100 events taking place across Scotland for 2023.
This week's an opportunity to connect people from across the world, visitors and local communities alike, to promote, use and learn Gaelic language. The Gaelic language and its associated culture represents a compelling opportunity for the Scottish tourism industry as a unique selling point and authentic part of the experience of visiting Scotland.
The week creates an opportunity for both Gaelic speakers and those without the language to take part in a way that suits them; here in Scotland and further afield.
