Scottish Rural Leadership Programme

Fife's agritourism and rural businesses are being encouraged to apply for the Scottish Rural Leadership Programme (SRLP), a six-month leadership development programme designed to help rural business leaders build confidence, embrace innovation and drive positive change within their businesses and communities.

Delivered by Elevator on behalf of Scotland’s enterprise agencies, the programme brings together ambitious leaders from rural businesses across Scotland to explore new ways of thinking, develop entrepreneurial skills and build lasting professional networks. Participants benefit from a combination of residential learning, coaching, facilitated discussions and collaborative experiences, all aimed at supporting transformational leadership and business growth.

A number of businesses from Fife have already completed the programme and have found it to be extremely valuable. Previous participants have highlighted the benefits of gaining fresh perspectives, building new connections and developing practical leadership skills that can be applied directly to their businesses.

The programme is particularly relevant for leaders of rural and agritourism businesses looking to take time away from day-to-day operations to think strategically, identify new opportunities and strengthen their ability to lead through change. On completion, participants also become part of a network of more than 1,000 SRLP alumni from across rural Scotland.

Applications for the 2026-27 Scottish Rural Leadership Programme are now open, with a series of online information sessions available for those interested in learning more before applying.
