Round 2 of Strategic Events Fund for 2026\27 Now Open
Round 2 of the Fife Strategic Events Fund (FSEF) for 2026\27 is now open, supporting events that deliver economic, community and place‑based benefits across Fife.
The funding supports new or existing events with the capacity to grow, attract visitors from outwith Fife and raise the area’s profile at a national or international level.
Types of Events That Can Apply
The fund is open to constituted groups, organisations, private sector companies and public sector agencies delivering strategic events in Fife.
Events best suited to the Strategic Events Fund are those that:
- Attract a significant number of tourism visitors to Fife
- Deliver measurable economic impact, including increased visitor spend
- Benefit local communities and support place‑based outcomes
- Offer unique or niche experiences that add value to Fife’s events portfolio
- Demonstrate long‑term growth, sustainability and legacy
- Generate national or international media exposure
The fund is not intended for community galas, local fairs, markets or events that primarily serve a local audience, or for events that closely replicate existing activity already taking place in Fife. Click HERE to view funding criteria.
Strategic Events Fund – Round 2 Applications
Round 2 of the Strategic Events Fund is open to events taking place between September 2026 and March 2027.
- Expressions of Interest open: 1 May 2026
- Full application deadline: 30 June 2026, 12 noon
Event organisers are required to submit an Expression of Interest in the first instance. Following assessment, applicants may be invited to complete a full funding application. Late applications will not be accepted.
Support from the Fife Events Team
Event organisers applying to the Strategic Events Fund can also access guidance and advice from the Fife Events Team. The team supports organisers through the event planning process, helping to identify relevant permissions, statutory requirements and coordination with council services to support the safe and successful delivery of events in Fife.
Developing a New Events Strategy for Fife
The Strategic Events Fund continues alongside work to develop a new Events Strategy for Fife, which will set out a long‑term vision for how events can support local communities, strengthen the visitor economy and contribute to sustainable growth.
The strategy will consider the role of strategic events in raising Fife’s profile, delivering economic and social value, and supporting year‑round tourism, while aligning with wider priorities such as sustainability, community wealth building and inclusive growth. Engagement with the events sector and key stakeholders will continue throughout 2026.
