Knockhill Racing Circuit Awards Win
2025 brings to an end the 50th season of Knockhill Racing Circuit, Scotland's National Motorsport Centre. During the year, three special events were created to pay tribute to the 5 decades of bike sport, car racing and rallying, the finale being the International McRae Rally Challenge in September.
During the award-winning year, there have been several highlights, including the return of Stock Cars and TimeAttack after over 10 years, a home win at the British Superbikes for Perth-born Rory Skinner and the largest British Touring Car crowd in 10 years in August. One of the highlights, however, was the International McRae Rally Challenge with a line-up of world, British and Scottish champions lining up alongside the strongest rally event ever seen at Knockhill.
Stuart Gray, Knockhill Director of Events, said, "We are all thrilled just to be nominated! These awards are amongst the top of British Motorsport and are known around the world. It was a huge team effort involving the Border Ecosse Car Club, 100 marshals and officials, the McRae family, as well as a number of key people from the Scottish rallying scene. We await the announcement at the RAC Club, but whatever happens, just to be nominated is a huge feather in the cap for Scottish motorsport."
Knockhill have continued to push on with their green energy measures with the installation of 200msq of solar panels as well as offsetting two of their racing championships and the McRae Challenge competitors' emissions. This resulted in being awarded the Motorsport UK Sustainable Club of the Year award. In addition, an Equity and Inclusion award was won jointly by Circuit Directors Jillian Shedden and Stuart Gray.
2026 plans include two classic Rewind events for cars and bikes, the return of national racers from the British Automobile Club, Superbikes (June 20th) & Touring Cars (August 9th), and Scotland's first-ever night race 0n September 26th.
It promises to be another busy season, bringing race fans to Fife from all over Scotland, the UK and beyond.
