Industry Comes Together to Help Shape a Sustainable Events Future for Fife
Tourism, events, community and public sector stakeholders from across Fife recently came together for a collaborative workshop focused on shaping the future of sustainable events in the region.
Building on the work undertaken through the VisitScotland and GDS Movement Destination Development Programme, the workshop provided an exciting opportunity for participants to share ideas, experiences and ambitions that will help inform the Sustainable Events section of Fife's new Events Strategy, which is currently being developed.
The session generated a wealth of discussion and insight, with attendees contributing valuable feedback on topics including environmental sustainability, community benefits, local supply chains, accessibility, inclusivity, event legacy and responsible event management. Participants also heard a series of presentations highlighting current best practice, emerging trends and opportunities to strengthen Fife's position as a leading sustainable events destination.
The high level of engagement throughout the workshop demonstrated the sector's shared commitment to creating events that deliver positive impacts for visitors, businesses, communities and the environment.
The ideas, suggestions and feedback captured during the session will now play an important role in the ongoing development of the new Events Strategy, helping to ensure sustainability is embedded at the heart of future event planning and delivery across Fife.
Welcome to Fife would like to thank everyone who took part and contributed their expertise, insights and enthusiasm. We look forward to continuing the conversation and working together to create a more sustainable and resilient future for events in Fife.
