Fife Businesses Invited to Get Involved in Fife Outdoor Week!
Celebrate Fife’s Great Outdoors and Attract New Visitors from 6th September – 14th September 2025.
Fife’s outdoor sector is in the spotlight this autumn with the second Fife Outdoor Activity Week, a themed week from Welcome to Fife designed to showcase the region’s outstanding natural assets, outdoor activities, and the local businesses that support them.
Running from 6th September – 14th September 2025, this nine-day celebration aims to spotlight Fife's diverse outdoor offerings, from adrenaline-pumping adventures to serene nature and wellness experiences.
Businesses across Fife are being invited to get involved in this exciting celebration, regardless of whether they directly offer outdoor activities. From cafés and accommodation providers to shops, attractions and tour guides — there are many ways to participate and benefit from increased footfall and exposure.
Engage and Inspire: Opportunities for Local Businesses
Fife Outdoor Activities Week presents a unique platform for businesses to connect with both residents and visitors. By organising events such as "come and try" sessions, open days, or special promotions, businesses can highlight their services and contribute to a vibrant community atmosphere. All participating events will be featured on the Welcome to Fife website, ensuring maximum visibility through a dedicated marketing campaign encompassing social media, public relations, and consumer newsletters.
"Fife Outdoor Activities Week is a great opportunity for businesses to reach new and regular customers and offer something a little different," said Gordon Dixon, Paddleboard Fife and Chair of the Heartlands Local Tourism Association. "We want to help show the breadth of activities available in the Kingdom and get people out and about enjoying our great outdoors in lots of ways."
Participation is completely free and provides an excellent opportunity to attract new customers, support the local economy, and celebrate Fife’s natural environment. Deadline for event applications to be included in marketing campaigns 31st July 2025.
Highlight Event: Fife Seaweed Festival
Running concurrently with the activities week is the Fife Seaweed Festival, a celebration of one of Scotland's most sustainable and plentiful natural resources. The festival aims to educate and inspire attendees about the nutritional benefits, environmental importance, creative possibilities, and culinary versatility of seaweed.
With around 650 different species in the UK, seaweed plays a crucial role in coastal health and offers immense potential for innovation in food, wellness, design and sustainable living.
Jayson Byles, East Neuk Seaweed and Fife Seaweed Festival said; “Having Fife’s first Seaweed Fest included in Outdoor Activity Week will help us kick start our new event, to reach new participants and add something a bit unusual to the programme. So we see it as a win-win!”
