Welcome to Fife Fam Trip for DMCs 2026

Experience the depth and diversity of Fife’s visitor offering through this curated two-day familiarisation trip designed specifically for DMCs. This itinerary showcases a blend of culture, heritage, food and drink, and unique visitor experiences, providing valuable insight into how Fife can be packaged for high-quality group and FIT travel. Accommodation for the programme will be confirmed shortly.

Day 1 begins with a visit to Kirkcaldy Galleries, offering an introduction to Fife’s cultural heritage and amzing artwork. From here, the group travels to Inchdairnie Distillery, where this new distillery brings innovation and traditional in Scotch whisky production. The journey continues through the scenic North Fife to Newburgh Handloom Weavers, highlighting traditional craft skills and authentic visitor experiences, followed by a visit to Balmerino Sheep, providing insight into Fife’s rural and agricultural landscape.

The day concludes with a standout food and drink experience hosted by Chef Al Simmer, whose approach champions seasonal, locally sourced produce and a strong connection to Fife’s natural larder. Guests will enjoy a relaxed dining experience delivered through Osteria, Al’s acclaimed dining concept, known for its rustic Italian-inspired menus and its use of the very best local produce, with a strong emphasis on simplicity, flavour, and provenance. This element of the itinerary offers a strong example of how Fife’s food and drink story can be positioned for premium group travel, combining personality-led hospitality with high-quality local ingredients.

Day 2 begins with breakfast before travelling to Kinkell Byre, where guests will explore its rewilding approach and sustainable land management practices and of course the Highland Cows. The itinerary continues to Teasses Estate, incorporating Hickory Golf Workshop, where a networking lunch will be hosted in a distinctive heritage setting. The final visit is to Silverburn Flax Mill, showcasing one of Scotland’s oldest industrial sites and its transformation into a visitor experience rooted in wellbeing and heritage opening 2027.

Throughout the trip, comfortable coach travel is provided, ensuring a seamless experience and valuable time for networking between visits.
