Get Ready for Fife Outdoor Activities Week as Businesses Invited to Join September Celebration

22 July 2026

With just six weeks to go until Fife Outdoor Activities Week, businesses across the Kingdom are being encouraged to get involved in a growing festival that celebrates everything that makes Fife an outstanding outdoor destination.

Returning for its third year, Fife Outdoor Activities Week will run from 5 to 13 September 2026, bringing together activity providers, attractions, hospitality businesses and community organisations to showcase the incredible range of outdoor experiences available across the region.

Organised by Welcome to Fife, the nine-day event was launched in 2024 to help extend the visitor season and encourage more people to explore Fife's landscapes, coastline and outdoor attractions. Since then, it has provided businesses with an opportunity to reach new audiences while promoting the Kingdom as a year-round destination for outdoor adventure and recreation.

From walking, cycling and watersports to wildlife experiences, outdoor wellbeing activities and family-friendly adventures, Fife offers a remarkable variety of ways to enjoy the outdoors. The week provides a platform for businesses to come together and inspire both visitors and local residents to discover something new.

As preparations gather pace, Welcome to Fife is inviting businesses to sign up by offering a special event, promotion or experience during the week. The aim is to create a diverse programme that highlights the breadth of outdoor activities available throughout Fife.

Participating businesses can choose what works best for them. That could be a special outdoor-themed offer, a dedicated event, a workshop, a discounted activity, or a "come and try" session. Businesses may also wish to collaborate with others to create unique visitor experiences. Even small additions to an existing product, such as including refreshments, adding a guest speaker or running an activity at a different time of day, can create a fresh experience for visitors.

All participating activities will be promoted through the Welcome to Fife website and supported by a dedicated marketing campaign, helping businesses gain valuable visibility ahead of and during the event. Promotion will include social media activity, public relations coverage and consumer newsletters. Businesses will also have access to a marketing toolkit to help promote their involvement.

Hilary Roberts, who leads the Welcome to Fife team, believes the event continues to offer significant benefits for businesses and visitors alike.

She said:

"We always look forward to Fife Outdoor Activities Week. It's a great opportunity to reach new customers and to test the market with something a little different.

"Bringing activities from across Fife together under one banner also creates added interest and is essentially a free marketing opportunity for your business. The sooner you confirm your participation, the sooner we can promote your business, so please get in touch."

The event comes at a time when visitors are increasingly seeking authentic outdoor experiences and opportunities to connect with nature. With its award-winning beaches, picturesque coastal paths, rolling countryside and extensive network of outdoor attractions, Fife is perfectly placed to meet that demand.

As the countdown begins, organisers hope even more businesses will join this year's programme and help demonstrate the strength and diversity of Fife's outdoor tourism offer.

Businesses interested in taking part should contact promoting.fife@fife.gov.uk in the first instance, and a member of the Welcome to Fife team will be in touch.
