Welcome to Fife partners with Eden Mill to boost visits to Fife

Welcome to Fife – the tourism brand for the Kingdom of Fife – has teamed up with St Andrews-based distillers Eden Mill to promote their spiritual home as the perfect place to enjoy a day trip or short break. And to celebrate the exciting opening of the new Eden Mill Distillery and Visitor Centre on the banks of the Eden Estuary, they are offering a lucky winner and their companion the chance to WIN a luxury 2-night break to St Andrews.
The promotion will feature across Eden Mill and Welcome to Fife digital and social channels, as well as on a promotional neck tag on Eden Mill products until September. The prize partners include Fife-based businesses Rusacks St Andrews, Wild Scottish Sauna, The Adamson and Eden Mill.
Established in the village of Guardbridge, three miles outside St Andrews in 2012, Eden Mill became the first to make spirits in this area of Fife in over 150 years. The original distillery has since closed, and the brand are weeks away from officially opening their new sustainable home on the site of an old paper mill in the same village where it all began 13 years ago.
Fife is home to many award-winning attractions, and the new Eden Mill Distillery and Visitor Centre will be another top-class experience for visitors to enjoy. Doors will open to the public at the end of the summer and visitors will be able to choose from a gin and single malt experience that will take them round a different part of the distillery. Experiences will be available to both the seasoned connoisseur, as well as those looking to discover Scotch whisky or gin for the first time.
Hannah Ingram, Head of Marketing at Eden Mill said: “We are thrilled to be opening our new home to the public in August. Our new Distillery and Visitor Centre is located on the banks of the Eden Estuary, just a stone’s throw from St Andrews town centre, and it’s the perfect experience for visitors to the area to enjoy as part of a day trip or short break. There’s so much to see and do, and now you can visit our new home, built with sustainability in mind, and enjoy a whisky tour or gin experience before relaxing with a cocktail and enjoying the stunning view from our cocktail bar. We are very proud to call Fife our home.”
Not only is it their spiritual home, the region of Fife also provides Eden Mill with several botanicals sourced locally to the distillery, including those drawn from gorse and heather that line the fairways and bunkers of the world-famous Old Course where you can spot the new distillery from the twelfth hole!
Hilary Roberts, Tourism Lead Officer, Fife Council who heads up the Welcome to Fife team said: “St Andrews is the perfect place to enjoy a short break or a day trip and we are delighted to see Eden Mill open their doors to visitors in a few weeks’ time. The new Distillery and Visitor Centre is a fantastic addition to the area’s visitor experience offering. From fascinating history and culture to fun outdoor adventures, world-class golf and award-winning food and drink, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. St Andrews is also a great base from which to explore the wider Fife area, including the beautiful villages of the East Neuk, the historic city of Dunfermline, the cobbled streets of Culross and Falkland, and miles of sandy beaches such as those in Leven, Aberdour and Burntisland. We’re excited to be partnering with Eden Mill to promote the Kingdom of Fife far and wide.”
