Age Scotland Highlights Age inclusion in tourism workforce
Scotland has a strong global identity and a reputation as being a great place to visit. As a result, tourism is one of Scotland’s most important sectors employing around 200,000 people from the Borders to the Islands.
However, in the current environment, finding workers is a real challenge. At the same time, there are many older workers looking to enter or re-enter the workplace. And while they may not have direct experience in the tourism sector, they have years of lived experience they can share.
Age Scotland and Business in the Community Scotland have four fully-funded programmes to support Scotland’s tourism sector attract and retain older workers.
