Green Tourism Sustainability Support Programme
Tourism is a known as being one of the main sectors/industries contributing to global Greenhouse Gas emissions. In 2019, Fife Council declared a Climate Emergency, and as a cornerstone of Fife’s economy, tourism has an active role to play to help stride towards the official Net Zero targets.
Customer trend analysis has shown that potential visitors are actively seeking trips with a strong sustainability and responsible focus. Through the Fife Tourism Climate Action plan, Fife Council has committed to help businesses raise their sustainability credentials to meet the needs of the consumer and Fife Council’s climate change targets.
Green Tourism is a well-established and reputable organisation with proven track record of delivering high quality business advice and support within the tourism and MICE industry.
