New hotel opening in Dunfermline adds to room availability in the city
A large gathering of invited guests attended the official opening of the new Amorist Hotel on Dunfermline’s High Street this week. The boutique 18‑bedroom hotel, located above the long‑established Amorist Bistro Bar, represents the latest stage in the redevelopment of a historic High Street building.
Nihat Oymak, the owner behind the Amorist project, welcomed the large gathering, expressing pride in bringing new life to a landmark property. Nihat Oymak has led the transformation of the venue, having previously operated La Menta and invested significantly in creating the hotel and its facilities.
The ribbon‑cutting ceremony was carried out by Provost of Fife Jim Leishman, Shirley‑Anne Somerville MSP, and local councillor James Calder, who joined guests to mark the occasion. Shirley‑Anne Somerville has represented the Dunfermline constituency since 2016.
The redevelopment has been widely welcomed as it brings new life into an old building in an ancient city, adding high‑quality accommodation to the centre of Dunfermline. With the city’s visitor numbers continuing to grow, the additional rooms are seen as a timely and much‑needed boost, addressing the recognised demand for more quality accommodation options.
Guests praised the event as a strong signal of renewed investment and confidence in Dunfermline’s hospitality sector, strengthening the city’s offer as a destination for both leisure and short‑break visitors.
