Revamped Adam Smith Theatre hits the right note with Provost
Fife Provost Jim Leishman has been quick to sing the praises of the newly transformed Adam Smith Theatre in Kirkcaldy.
Councillor Leishman – a seasoned performer with Kelty Musical Association – was hugely impressed as he saw first-hand how the theatre has been transformed into a modern creative hub.
Leading the tour of the revamped premises was Heather Stuart, Chief Executive of cultural charity OnFife, which runs the venue.
There was time to take in the refurbished foyer, new-look café/bar and refurbished auditorium. The Provost was also shown fully equipped spaces for community use and the Design Suite for creative professionals.
Said Councillor Leishman: “It was great to be back in the Adam Smith Theatre and see the transformation up close. It’s amazing how much has been packed into this much-loved building and I know that it’ll be drawing in the crowds from Kirkcaldy and beyond for years to come.”
Heather Stuart said: “We are so fortunate in Fife to have a Provost who so enthusiastically supports arts and culture. Jim is a great ambassador for Fife. I know that, having seen the new-look space up close, he will not be shy about spreading the word far and wide.”
