Workshop: Marketing Strategy and Principles

Tuesday 28th May 2024 at 9:30am – 1pm at The Enterprise Hub, Glenrothes

Customers can't buy what they don't know. So how can you make sure the customers you want to win know about your business, what it can do for them and what makes it their best choice?

In this half-day workshop tailored for the specific needs of town centre independent retailers we'll take a deep dive into the fundamentals of great retail marketing and look at how you can apply that knowledge to grow your business. We'll look at why understanding the customers you want (who, often, are not the customers you currently have) is key to success and how your business can manage the fabled 'marketing mix' to its advantage. We'll also take a deep dive into advertising and promotion, looking at how it works, and what that means for the customers you want to engage.

The workshop will be delivered by Alan Clarke of The Business Growth Partnership. Alan is a marketing veteran with more than 30 years' experience including working in retail with Kwik Fit and Scottish Power. What he will share in the workshop doesn't come from any textbook. Rather it's based on his learnings at the coalface where he gathered the bumps and bruises that reflect the real-life world of retail.

Town Centre Digital Programme

Commencing week beginning 3rd June 2024

Delivered by Learn Ecommerce, the town centre digital support is a five-episode video on demand programme with weekly live sessions and one-to-one business advice from digital expert.
